President (Jenny Bailey) called the meeting to order at 7:08 PM followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
Secretary’s Report: Secretary (Linda Cook) read the minutes of the September 17, 2009 meeting. A motion to accept the minutes was made by Kelly McGuire and seconded by Jamie Pedaline.
Treasurer’s Report: Treasurer (Cindy Mannion) read the Treasurer’s report as follows:
Checking account balance: $4,117.63
Savings account balance: $2,413.23
A motion to accept the treasurer’s report was made by Tabitha Gleason and seconded by David Pedaline.
Mr. Panella thanked everyone for their well wishes while he was sick.
The trip to New Jersey was approved. It will cost around $400. It will consist of a trip to Six Flags, NJ, a water park & beach in Ocean City. It will be 2 nights & 3 days occurring on May 6th through May 8th. The kids will have to do a little parade (probably in Six Flags).
Candy money is now due from those who are delinquent on their accounts.
Scratch-off tickets are going on now.
The uniforms were dry cleaned and will be back tomorrow evening. They need to be put back together for Senior Night. Some senior signs still need to be done.
Senior Night is 10/16/09. A motion was made by Linda Cook to have a raffle for the individual items received for Senior Night, but the motion did not pass by majority rule, and the traditional dispensation of extra gifts was distributed to Band Members selected as King, Queen, Princess and Court Jester.
Saturday Night (October 17th) is Little Rams Senior Night. We need to order pizza and pop for about 20 kids.
Tailgating for the Monaca game is 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM on 10/31/09. The Band will be at a competition at McGuffey that day arriving back at Rochester High School around 6:00 PM.
February 10th through 2th – District Band
Rochester High School is hosting the event this year. There will be 50 high schools participating. We will be receiving a $750 stipend from the State that will go to the RBPO. This will be used toward ads for the program. We also need to get $50 to $100 donations from organizations (in the form of advertisements) so that we can host a dinner for the directors. The counties to be represented are: Beaver, Butler, Lawrence and Mercer
The next Band Parent meeting is scheduled for November 19, 2009 at 7:00 PM. A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by everyone and seconded by everyone. The meeting adjourned at 7:47 PM.
