Rochester Area High School Band

Welcome to our web site! The mission of the Rochester Area High School Band is to make a positive difference in the lives of our members through the study of music and exposure to the pageantry arts while preparing them to enter society with important life skills including the pursuit of excellence, the development of character, commitment to an organization, the ability to assume leadership, and a sense of pride in one's accomplishments.

The band program at Rochester Area High School is one of the largest organizations in our school district and includes the 60 member Marching Rams, the 40 member Symphonic Band, the 18 piece audition-only Jazz Band, a  competitive winter colorguard and competitive winter percussion ensemble, and many opportunities for solo and small ensemble instrumental performance.

Located in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, approximately 25 miles northwest of Pittsburgh at the confluence of the Beaver and Ohio rivers, Rochester Area School District is comprised of three small communities:  Rochester Borough, East Rochester Borough and Rochester Township. With a total K-12 enrollment of approximately 975 students and an average graduating class size of 75 students, nearly 90% of school districts in Pennsylvania are larger than Rochester Area School District.

Despite the small size of our district, our band program is one of the region's largest and most successful programs from a P.I.A.A. "Single A" school. Our Symphonic Band and Jazz Band have received Excellent and Superior Ratings at numerous adjudication festivals. In addition to performing at all varsity football games, the Marching Rams are a competitive member of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Marching Band Association and have recently earned first place at several competitions.  In addition, the band marches in the Kennywood Fall Fantasy Parade, the Beaver County Veteran's Day Parade and the Celebrate the Seasons Parade in Pittsburgh. The band has also performed at Cedar Point, Heinz Field, Hersheypark Stadium, Disney's Magic Kingdom and Universal Studios in Orlando, FL.
